Varun hosting Reality Ranis of the Jungle

Ask him how challenging it is to manage all the contestants and keep the show running smoothly, and he replies, “Hosting Reality Ranis of the Jungle was a lot of fun. As a contestant, I would be nervous, constantly worrying about advancing in the show. There’s always so much happening – whether it’s about performing the challenges well, surviving vote-outs, or just staying in the game. I started hosting at 21, but those were small segments. Those early experiences helped me grow as a host and gave me the confidence to manage a show of this scale. I felt comfortable handling the show. My only concern was that many of the women on the show had been in reality shows before, where they were used to seeing hosts older and more experienced than me. However, the journey turned out to be smooth and honestly, a lot of fun.”

Beyond keeping things organised, Varun’s main goal was to be a fair host. He explains, “I wanted the contestants to feel I was a fair guy. For me, it’s important that everyone gets an equal experience and exposure and has fun. I’d like to think I succeeded in that.”

He adds, “I could relate to every contestant because I’ve been in their shoes, having competed in many reality shows myself. Sometimes, as a contestant, you’re motivated, and other times, you’re not. As a host, I had to find a way to connect with each contestant, and that’s how I managed to stay fair. All 12 women were going through such difficult times that, honestly, they all became my favourites. I am just so proud that none of them gave up.”
