Hanuman Jayanti violence: Situation under control, cops on high alert in Jahangirpuri

Following the communal clash on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, the security in the Jahangirpuri area of Delhi is on high alert. In northwest Delhi's sensitive areas police were patrolling throughout Saturday night to prevent any untoward incident. Communal clashes broke out in the Jahangirpuri area during a Shobha yatra on Hanuman Jayanti and stones were pelted at the procession. Some people, including policemen, were injured in the violence. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appealed for peace. The situation in the Jahangirpuri area is under control but tense. Union Home Minister Amit Shah took stock of the situation and instructed Delhi Police to maintain law and order.
