At INLD rally, with opposition leaders Sharad Pawar, Sitaram Yechury, Sukhbir Badal, Nitish Kumar urges parties to build 'main front' to challenge BJP

From Sharad Pawar to Nitish Kumar... many opposition leaders came together on a common platform... sharing the stage at this rally organised by the INLD. The INLD-organised rally was meant to be the stage for prominent non-BJP faces. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar urged the Opposition to build a ‘main front’ of all parties, including the Congress, to defeat the ruling BJP while ruling out a third front. Congress and AAP were not invited by INLD to the rally. The notable absentees in the rally were DMK, TRS and TMC. The rally was commemorating its founder and ex-deputy PM Devi Lal's birth anniversary. NC’s Farooq Abdullah, Meghalaya governor Sat Pal Malik and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik sent messages expressing their inability to attend the rally, according to sources. NCP chief Sharad Pawar and CPM's Sitaram Yechury repeated Nitish's appeal to all opposition parties. Opposition parties were requested to join hands against the BJP-led government at the Centre and ‘support the farming and labour class’.
