Lasya Nanditha, daughter of the late MLA G. Sayanna, and an experienced corporator in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, contested from the SC reserved constituency, passionately connecting with voters. Fate smiled on the engineering virtuoso as she secured a victory with a substantial margin of 17,169 votes. Born in 1986, Nanditha, who entered politics a decade ago, unexpectedly became the Cantonment BRS candidate after her father's demise, a revelation announced by BRS president and then Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, leaving everyone in surprise and intrigue. Tragically, she lost her life in a road accident in February, echoing the sorrowful fate of her father Sayanna, who passed away last February.
