May, 30, was an employee at an electronics plant in Samut Prakan province's Bang Pu Industrial Estate, previously had taken leave from September 5 to 9 due to an inflamed large intestine, which required a four-day hospital stay, Bangkok Post reported.

Despite her condition not improving after leaving the hospital, May decided to take two more days off. On the evening of September 12, she requested sick leave for the following day, informing her manager that her condition had worsened. However, the manager insisted that she come to work and submit another medical certificate, as she had already taken several sick days.

Concerned about losing her job, May went to work on September 13 despite her poor health. After working for only 20 minutes, she collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery. Tragically, May was pronounced dead from necrotising enterocolitis on the evening of September 14.

On September 16, Delta Electronics Thailand, May's employer, announced her passing on their Facebook page, expressing their condolences and stating, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to her family and loved ones during this difficult time."
