2 road projects in Lakhisarai get administrative approval
Patna: The proposal for widening and strengthening two roads in Lakhisarai district with an estimated cost of Rs 44 crore got administrative approval on Friday, said road construction department minister Nitin Nabin.
He said the administrative approval was given to the two road projects—from Halsi to Manjhwe and from Vidyapeeth Chowk to Mohanpur Path—to be constructed from the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF).
The minister said, under the CRIF, a total of 10.35-km-long road on the Halsi-Manjhwe stretch would be constructed at a total cost of Rs 25.96 crore. Also, an administrative approval has been given for new construction of a total of 5.15-km-long road on the Vidyapeeth Chowk to Mohanpur Path stretch at a total cost of Rs 18.16 crore.
Nabin said both these projects are very important for Lakhisarai district. With the construction of Halsi-Manjhwe road, dozens of villages like Halsi, Mohaddinnagar, Sethna, Behrawan, Geruapar Sanda, Shivsona, Dhira, Bardokhar, Rata etc. will get easy transportation facility as well as connectivity with the border of Jamui district. Students of Govt Engineering College, Lakhisarai, which is situated in Shivsona, will also get convenience in transportation, he said.
Similarly, the road construction from Vidyapeeth Chowk to Mohanpur Path will facilitate transportation from various villages and flood-prone areas like Vidyapeeth Chowk, Rehua, Kishanpur, Mohanpur, Ramchandrapur, Pipariya, Phulwariya, Surjichak, Rahatpur etc. Many schools are located on that stretch, along with Balika Vidyapeeth, Lakhisarai, he added.
The minister directed the department to issue tender for these schemes soon and ensure their timely execution.
