Innovation hub to propel engineering & startups in UP’s Gorakhpur
Gorakhpur: A state-of-the-art Innovation and Incubation Centre was inaugurated at KIPM technical campus in Gorakhpur under the aegis of the Innovators Foundation. The centre was formally opened by professor J P Pandey, VC of A P J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow in the presence of KIPM chairman RD Singh.
During his address, professor Pandey emphasized the importance of innovation in modern education, noting that this initiative would empower students to transition from academic learning to real-world problem-solving and entrepreneurship. "Innovation and creative thinking are the true essence of education today," he said.
The facility aims to foster startup culture, technical skills, and leadership qualities among students, enabling them to convert their ideas into viable business models. Highlighting the need for youth-led solutions to local problems, speakers called for harnessing this platform to realize the vision of a self-reliant India.
Sunita Singh of KIPM foundation revealed that 20 projects have already emerged from the centre, including 8 startups and 12 innovation-stage products from engineering and pharmacy disciplines. Noteworthy developments include herbal health products, IoT-based waste monitoring systems, AI-enabled robotics, and drones for agriculture.
Institution leaders expressed hope that the centre would become a launchpad for young innovators shaping the future of India's tech and entrepreneurial landscape.
