Vijayawada: Four persons from Hindupur area of Andhra Pradesh lost their lives in an accident near Amalapuram in the jurisdiction of Gabbur police station under Devadurga Taluk of Raichur district in Karnataka.
The deceased were identified as Nagaraju, Soma, Nagabhushan, and Murali. They died on the spot after the vehicle they were travelling in, rammed into a bridge wall near Amalapuram.
According to information, the group was travelling to Shahapur town in Yadgir district of Karnataka to purchase sheep from a local fair. The vehicle reportedly lost control due to overspeeding or poor visibility, leading to the fatal crash.
Police rushed to the scene upon receiving information. They recovered the bodies and shifted them to a nearby hospital for post-mortem.
A case was registered by Gabbur police. Further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The sudden demise of the four men sent shockwaves through their native town of Hindupur, where locals mourned the loss of the well-known traders.
