IPL 2025: Red soil pitch awaits Rishabh Pant's LSG

Lucknow: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) won’t have it easy on home turf against Delhi Capitals (DC), who are enjoying their best run in years. The silver lining for Lucknow is that at the Ekana Stadium, they have dominated DC.
However, there’s a rider. This season, LSG have played four matches on this pitch, two each on black and red soil surfaces respectively. The black soil pitches have favoured the team’s strengths and brought two victories, while the team has lost both matches played on the red soil pitch, which will be used for Tuesday’s game.

Rishabh Pant and Co. will be keeping their fingers crossed heading into this one. For many of the key players, this is a grudge match of sorts for the second time this season — KL Rahul was LSG captain last season, and Rishabh Pant used to be DC skipper.

Freed of captaincy duties, Rahul has done well for DC while Pant has struggled with the bat. Mayank bowls in the nets Pacer Mayank Yadav has not been seen in the playing XI yet, though he did bowl in the nets on Monday for approximately half an hour.
Mayank used his full run-up as Zaheer Khan and Justin Langer looked on. It remains to be seen if LSG decide to unleash him now.
