Exciting Updates Ahead: Marvel Rivals Gifting System on the Horizon!

Marvel Rivals developer confirms a new gifting system will be implemented in future updates. ACosmetic Gifting System is a common feature in most live-service games where players can gift in-game skins and bundles to their friends. Players have been asking for it ever since the game’s launch. NetEase Games has a good track record for implementing changes based on community feedback and it's no exception this time around.
Marvel Rivals had a massively successful launch with over 40 million players joining the game since its launch on 6 December, 2024. Players from across the world have demanded several features to be added, to improve the overall experience of the game. Requests include features like complex progression systems, cross-progression, battle-royale game mode, and more. With NetEase Games promising to support Marvel Rivals for 10+ years, it is likely many of these requests along with additional features will be added into the game in the future.

With the release of the Clone Rumble event update on March 6, Marvel Games Executive Producer Danny Koo took to his X account to answer questions from the community. One player named The Patman on X, asked, “Can we get a gifting system?” To this, Danny Koo responded, “It’s on the todo list”.
This confirms that a new cosmetic and/or battle pass gifting system will be worked upon by NetEase Games. However, it might take a while for this feature to be implemented in Marvel Rivals. Players will be able to buy and give any skin or battle pass to any of their friends’ accounts. This also opens up opportunities for Marvel Rivals content creators to conduct giveaways to their follower base, increasing their engagement and in turn growing the Marvel Rivals community.


While the gifting system is confirmed to be coming in Marvel Rivals, players are demanding another seemingly more important feature to be added, Cross Progression. Several players of the Marvel Rivals community replied to Danny Koo's comment, saying “We want cross progression.” Players are more concerned about having to purchase the same skins twice on both their Xbox and PC accounts. They simply want their stats and inventory to sync up across various platforms. However, cross progression in Marvel Rivals hasn’t been confirmed officially.
