Dynamax Entei is one of the powerful Fire-type Legendary beasts that is about to make its debut in Pokémon GO. To catch it, the players will need a proper strategy, strong counters, and perfect timing for defeating and capturing the Pokémon. So, if you are looking to add the colossal Pokémon to the collection, here is everything you must know.

Where to find Dynamax Entei Pokémon?

Dynamax Entei will be appearing in the limited-time five-star Max Raid Battles. The Max Battle weekend event will run between April 26, 2025, 6:00 am to April 27, 2025, 9:00 pm. As the raids will be available at the Gyms, check the Nearby Raids tab frequently. Trainers will need to act fast; after all, this might be their only chance to catch the massive Pokémon for the foreseeable future.
To increase your chances of catching the Dynamax Entei, farm Max Particles leading to the event. The cap, just for the special occasion, has been increased to 1,600 particles. Collect them through walking— 1/4 of the normal distance will be required. You can also collect them by visiting the Power Spots, which now offer 8x the normal particles. During the event window, the Power Spots will also reset much more frequently, offering you many opportunities to encounter the Dynamax Entei Pokémon.
Pro tip: Make sure to raid with 4 to 5 high-level trainers at least as the Dynamax Entei hits harder with the Fire-type attacks like Overheat and Fire Fang.

How to battle and catch the Dynamax Entei?

When it is about battling the Pokémon, you will need to assemble a team of powerful,
  • Rock-type Pokémon
  • Water-type Pokémon
  • Ground-type Pokémon

Some of the best counters include, Primal Kyogre (Origin Pulse and Waterfall), Mega Swampert (Water Gun and Hydro Cannon), Rampardos (Smack Down and Rock Slide), Rhyperior (Mud-Slap and Rock Wrecker) and Garchomp (Mud Shot and Earth Power).
The catching phase of the Pokémon is just as important as the battling. For it, build a battle strategy. Like, dodge the charged moves to survive longer, use the mega evolutions for the team-wide boosts to damage, and give priority to the high Damage Per Seconds attackers as Dynamax Entei hits harder (as said above), and if not careful, it can be quite dangerous.
After you defeat the Dynamax Entei, you will receive the Premier Balls based on your performance during the raid. To maximize your chance of catching the Pokémon, aim for the excellent throws and use the Golden Razz Berries.

Can you catch Shiny Dynamax Entei?

If you are just lucky enough, you might encounter the Shiny version of Dynamax Entei. The shiny Pokémon has a 100% catch rate if you hit it with the ball. However, if you are specifically after the Shiny version, your odds are approximately 1 to 20 per raid. You cannot boost the odds.
The best strategy that can help you catch the Shiny Dynamax Entei is to complete as many raids as possible during the event window. You can recognize the shiny version by its gray fur and not the normal brown-colored fur. It makes the Shiny Pokémon a prized addition to one’s collection.
Final tip: Coordinate with the other trainers in the area as the raids are tough, and you will need 4-5 high-level professionals working together to take down Dynamax Entei efficiently.
