"He saved our tails today" - Dodgers manager Dave Roberts praises starter for stepping up during crucial time

It seems like the Dodgers were put in a tough spot after reliable pitchers had to leave the field due to injuries. His performance did not go unnoticed by manager Dave Roberts who praised the pitcher for his outstanding performance.

The match against the Pittsburgh Pirates would have become one-sided if Ben Casparius would not have stepped up. On Sunday, the Dodgers were facing double trouble. Their star pitcher Blake Snell was already on the injured list due to shoulder discomfort . To top it off, Tyler Glasnow, another reliable Dodgers pitcher, had to leave the field mid-way due to shoulder discomfort. After delivering just one inning Glasnow was seen heading to the dugout.
During this crucial time, the Dodgers sent Ben Casparius to handle the field, and he did it well! With just 3.2 innings, Casparius allowed only two hits and struck out five. His outstanding performance received the praise of manager Dave Roberts, who went on to say,
“He gave us four innings today. He’s unflappable. He flooded the strike zone. And he saved our tails today.”

Well, it seems Ben did save the Dodgers' tail on Sunday. When asked whether the team would consider him as a starter, Roberts said, “It's a thought," which is indeed a hopeful statement, coming from the manager.
