Hailee Steinfeld swoons over Michael B. Jordan while fans question her future with Josh Allen

Hailee Steinfeld couldn’t stop praising Michael B. Jordan’s performance in Sinners, where he plays twins in Ryan Coogler’s new supernatural horror film. While filming, Steinfeld was left in awe of Jordan’s ability to bring two distinct characters — Smoke and Stack — to life, each with their own unique complexities.

In an interview with Collider, the 28-year-old actress, Hailee Steinfeld shared just how impressed she was with Michael B. Jordan's dual role. “(He) was working double time, overtime, all of the above with playing two roles in this – and not just two roles, but two of the most complex and nuanced that have ever been written. How do you do that?” Steinfeld marveled, adding that the idea of playing two such diverse characters would “eat (her) alive.”

Despite the difficulty of the challenge, Hailee Steinfeld credited Jordan for making it seem effortless. “He’s so, so, so talented. A lot of people have been asking us how challenging it was – it was, don’t get me wrong – but he made it so easy for all of us. I don’t know how he did it,” she shared, acknowledging the hard work Jordan put into making the twins feel so real.

One of the things that stood out to Steinfeld was how easily she could tell who Jordan was portraying, simply by his energy and body language. "One thing that I was fascinated by the entire time was that he would walk on the set as one twin, and it was clear as day who he was and what we were doing," she said.
Steinfeld revealed that her connection with Jordan felt stronger when he played Stack, the twin with whom her character, Mary, shares a romantic history. "He and I actually talk about this all the time, how there was this natural connection and draw that I would have with Michael as Stack, and then, when he’d come on set as Smoke, I didn’t really interact with him very much. He was with Wunmi (Mosaku),” Steinfeld said, referring to Mosaku, who portrays Smoke’s partner, Annie.
