Woman murdered near Erode

ERODE: A woman was found dead with head injuries at her home near Perundurai in Erode district on Tuesday. The Perundurai police were probing whether the motive of the murder was theft of jewellery and money or any other factors.
The murdered woman has been identified as Janaki, 30, wife of Ganeshraj, 40, of Vijayamangalam. The couple has a five-year-old son.
Ganeshraj, who works as a fitter in a spinning mill, found the front door ajar when he returned home from work on Monday night.
He saw Janaki lying dead in a pool of blood, with head injuries.
On being alerted, the police arrived at the scene, recovered the body and sent it to Erode Government Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.
Police said they were gathering evidence and conducting a thorough investigation. “We are undertaking a comprehensive inquiry to ascertain the motive of the murder,” a police officer said.
