MMA veterans like Joe Rogan and Ilia Topuria are doubtful about Conor McGregor's return to the Octagon. Rogan, on his podcast, pointed to McGregor's prolonged absence, lack of training, and constant partying as major hindrances. MMA veterans and fighters have given up their hope for Conor McGregor’s return to the Octagon. While a few weeks back, Daniel Cormier, with a heavy heart, accepted the fact that the fighter is done, Joe Rogan joins the circle with his opinion in his recent podcast with Ilia Topuria. The UFC commentator believes that The Notorious is not returning anymore, and he justified his statements while explaining the timeline of the fighter’s absence from the Octagon. Topuria adds to the conversation as well, highlighting the current lifestyle of McGregor, which might affect his performance even if he returns to the cage.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan and former featherweight champion Ilia Topuria analyses the reason why Conor McGregor might never return

In a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast, the UFC commentator and former featherweight champion Ilia Topuria talked about a potential return for the Irish fighter, Conor McGregor. When Rogan was asked about his opinion, he stated, “If I had a bet, no. Because he has not come back yet. If he really wanted to, he would have been back in the gym, had a fight scheduled, drug tested, clean, training, gone through a camp, had a fight.”
Rogan went on to analyze the situation with Michael Chandler at UFC 303, “Like he had a broken toe before the fight with Chandler. I understand that. Why should you fight with a broken toe, especially for a guy like Conor, who moves a lot…So heal that toe. Its two months. Broken toe is like two months. And so then you are back in camp. And then you reschedule a fight and then you fight again. But he didn’t." He further talked about the lifestyle of The Notorious, “And also partying. Constant partying. All these law, legal problems he has. You know scooting around on yachts and you know driving around a Lamborghini. He is wealthy.”

Adding on these lines, later on during the podcast, Topuria too added his comments on the fighter’s lifestyle, “His toe is f****, his chin is f****, his body is f*****. With that much parties and drugs and all that, you're gonna have to pay that price at some point…You are paying the price with your health which is the dumbest thing you can do in your entire life."
While both Rogan and Topuria believed that McGregor needs to really prepare hardcore if he ever plans on getting back into the Octagon, Topuria sends out the brutal trash talk on the fighter, “It depends on who he is gonna face. Because if you put him against me, he needs to die and be born again”

Ilia Topuria recently moved up to the lightweight division and has been constantly calling out Islam Makhachev for a title bout. However, there has been no positive response to the fighter’s request. While he is considered to carry similar potential like the Irish fighter McGregor, their lifestyles are very different from each other.
