WWE commentator Wade Barrett breaks silence after Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton's SmackDown segment

Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton's feud has intensified ahead of their WrestleMania clash. During a heated segment on Friday Night SmackDown, the wrestlers traded personal insults, going off script and leading to heavy editing by WWE. The feud between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton is gaining steam as Road to WrestleMania fires up two weeks before the main event. The two female wrestlers have been trading jabs and insults ever since Flair decided to challenge Ms. Tiffy Time for her title at the Show of Shows. And their latest interaction during Friday Night SmackDown has been the talk of the town ever since the episode went live from Chicago. And Wade Barrett, who was the moderator for the Flair-Stratton segment has finally broken his silence over it.

WWE wanting to moderate the Charlotte Flair Tiffany Stratton exchange didn't work too well

The promo segment between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton went from 'Okay, this is good' to 'What is even happening here?' real quick. The two women have been exchanging heated words for quite some time, and their last interaction before coming face-to-face in Chicago was already being talked about, where many thought Flair was poking Stratton deliberately. Which was why WWE thought that having a moderator for the segment would be a good idea. Not that it made much difference!

Wade Barrett, who has been working for the company as a color commentator for the SmackDown brand, was chosen for the job. And while he didn't think it would be easy work, he probably also didn't think that things could go from bad to worse in seconds. As soon as the insults turned personal, all bets were off. And it has been alleged that the two women went off script quite a bit as they exchanged jabs and took shots at each other's personal lives.

Wade Barrett makes a comment about the SmackDown segment

The segment between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton has been heavily edited before WWE put the final product up on their social media platforms and YouTube. The personal jabs have been taken out from their official handle clips, and Wade Barrett has finally decided to open up on the matter. The former wrestler took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to post a photo of him standing between the two women, writing:
"I wanted to be Sir David Frost.
I ended up as Jerry Springer.
#SmackDown"

Sir David Frost was a reach to be fair, but we get where Barrett is coming from. Moderating a segment with Flair and Stratton wasn't going to be a cake walk, but what actually happened made his job so much more difficult. No wonder WWE decided to cut out parts of the promo.
