Tripura to host 10-day tourism fest from Dec 3
Agartala: Tripura govt announced a 10-day Tourism Promo Festival on Sunday, with a series of events to promote the state’s tourism potential. CM Manik Saha will inaugurate the fest on Dec 3 at Narkel Kunja of Dumbur Lake — a natural holiday destination.
This will be followed by mega events in the Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, which is house to clouded leopards, on Dec 9, at Jampui Hill, Switzerland of the northeast, on Dec 11, and a mega concert at Vivekananda Stadium in Agartala from Dec 12-14, where playback singer Shreya Ghoshal will perform.
Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the festival aims to showcase the rich traditions, culture and natural beauty of Tripura’s 19 indigenous tribes to tourists from across the country and beyond. The event will also showcase local cuisine and a musical concert.
A cultural event will be organised at Jampui Hill’s Eden Tourist Lodge. It will feature a musical concert, traditional Mizo band performances, dance, adventure sports, and a diverse food festival. The festival aims to culminate in a Business-to-Business (B2B) meeting between domestic tour operators and local stakeholders.
“The event aims to blend national and regional talents, showcasing Tripura’s cultural vibrancy on a grand stage,” Chowdhury said. As part of the initiative, 70-80 representatives from the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) will visit Tripura to explore its tourism potential.
