Aligarh may soon be renamed Harigarh, resolution passed in civic body meeting

AGRA: Aligarh Nagar Nigam (ANN) mayor Prashant Singhal has announced that a resolution proposing the renaming of Aligarh to Harigarh had been passed during a meeting of the civic body. The resolution is now set to be forwarded to the government for consideration.
Singhal said on Tuesday: “During a meeting on Sunday, our councilor Sanjay Pandit proposed the name change from Aligarh to Harigarh.The proposal garnered unanimous support from all councilors, and it will now be submitted to the government for their consideration. We are hopeful that the government will respond positively to our request. The renaming of Aligarh to Harigarh has been a longstanding demand.”
