Good news: Baby born in mela hosp christened Saraswati
Prayagraj: A baby girl born to a Rewa (Madhya Pradesh) couple at Triveni Hospital on the Mela premises here on Thursday, gave a reason to cheer to the staff of the health department and devotees too.
Aptly named ‘Saraswati’, the baby girl was born at one of the two 20-bed hospitals set up on the mela campus to cater to pilgrims and visitors.
This was the second normal delivery conducted at a mela hospital.

“The baby girl was born at 10:03am and both baby and mother, Archana (20), are fine,” said Dr Varun Kwatra, in charge of the Triveni Hospital.
He added, “Her family members brought Archana to Triveni hospital at around 7am and went into labour. A team comprising Dr Neelima Dhawan (gynaecologist), Dr Jyoti Mishra (medical officer), Dr Suryabhan (anaesthetist), Dr Satyajeet (paediatrician) and other health staff ensured normal delivery.”
Sadhus and devotees considered the birth a divine blessing and well-wishers made a beeline to get a glimpse of the baby, said a doctor at the hospital.
Family members said, “We are happy the baby was born at such an auspicious time and place.”
