AMRISTAR: Amritsar (Rural) Police have arrested two persons—Palak Sher Masih and Suraj Masih—for allegedly spying for Pakistan and leaking sensitive information about military installations and troop movements.
Speaking to media persons on Sunday, Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural), Maninder Singh said the duo was allegedly involved in sharing critical details and photographs of Army cantonment areas and airbases in Amritsar with Pakistani intelligence operatives.
Preliminary investigations have linked them to Harpreet Singh, alias Pittu or Happy, who is currently lodged in Amritsar Central Jail.
A case has been registered under the Official Secrets Act, and a thorough investigation is underway.
Police sources anticipate further significant revelations as the probe deepens, with efforts focused on dismantling the espionage network and safeguarding national security.
