Bengaluru: Former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble, who met deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar Thursday, later interacted with media outside the latter's residence and expressed hopes that Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will win the Indian Premier League this season.
Asked whether he believed in RCB's tagline ‘Ee sala cup namde?', Kumble responded with a smile, "Don't say it aloud — every time we say it, things go wrong. But yes, there is definitely hope that they can win."
Wishing RCB good luck for their upcoming match, Kumble added with a light-hearted remark, "I was part of both Punjab and Bengaluru teams — that's my problem!"
Kumble's remarks have added to the buzz around RCB, a team that continues to enjoy a massive fan following, despite not securing an IPL title so far. All eyes now remain on whether this will finally be RCB's year.
