Karnataka-CET records 94.2% attendance on Day 1
The Karnataka Common Entrance Test registered 94.2% attendance on the first day of the main papers across all 775 centres.
Of 3,21,895 students who downloaded their hall tickets, 3,11,777 (94.2%) attended the exam.
The chemistry paper in the afternoon saw 183 more candidates than that of physics paper in the morning.
The QR code-based facial recognition system faced minor technical glitches at some centres in the morning but none in the afternoon, H Prasanna, executive director, Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) clarified.
KEA staff assisted over 30 students, who arrived at exam centres without hall tickets. Some students faced issues like insufficient mobile balance or blocked numbers, preventing them from downloading hall tickets via OTP. The staff swiftly sent hall tickets via WhatsApp.
The exams for mathematics (morning) and biology (afternoon) will be held Thursday (April 17).
