Health edu events to mark World Liver Day today

Bhopal: On April 19, marking World Liver Day, healthcare facilities will conduct educational programmes and screening sessions to promote liver health awareness, according to a press release.
The events will include diagnostic camps for hypertension, diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. This year's observance focuses on the theme "Food is Medicine". Healthcare professionals will conduct counselling sessions about liver disease prevention and provide detailed guidance on dietary precautions.
Bhopal Chief Medical and Health Officer, Dr Prabhakar Tiwari, emphasised the liver's vital role in the body. He highlighted government initiatives including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease screening and viral hepatitis control programmes under the non-communicable disease control scheme. Health institutions will organise awareness sessions providing information about dietary guidelines, infection prevention and viral hepatitis management.
