Bhopal: A marginal respite from harsh weather for the past two days due to weather systems would clear after Monday. The temperatures in the state would again take an upward trend. It indicated discomforting hot weather remained in store for this week.
The meteorological dept stated the western disturbance as a trough in middle to upper tropospheric levels with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level now runs roughly along longitude 82° east to north of latitude 21° north.
The upper air cyclonic circulation over southeast Madhya Pradesh at 0.9 km above mean sea level persists. The trough from the above cyclonic circulation over southeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood to central parts of Telangana across Vidarbha at 0.9 km above mean sea level persists.
The trough from the central parts of west Rajasthan to cyclonic circulation southeast Madhya Pradesh across northeast Rajasthan, northwest Madhya Pradesh at 0.9 km above mean sea level persists. A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan region from April 16, 2025.
The day temperature in Bhopal on Sunday was recorded at 38.7 degrees celsius, which was at the normal mark, while night temperature in the city was 22.8 degrees celsius, a degree more than the normal mark.

In the forecast for the state the meteorological dept issued warning of thunderstorm, lightning, gusty wind 50-60 kmph, hailstorm in Singrauli, Satna, Umaria, Katni and Maihar dists.

A possibility of rainfall or drizzle with thunderstorm, lightning was underlined for Narmadapuram, Betul, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Maihar and Pandhurna dists.
Dry weather would prevail in remaining dists of the state. In the weather outlook the meteorological dept stated there would be no large change for next 24 hours, thereafter rise in temperature by 2 degrees to 3 degrees celsius.
