Girl dies after falling off train ‘trying to click selfie’

Keonjhar: A young girl died after falling off a train while allegedly trying to click a selfie near Tangiriapal railway station in Keonjhar district on Friday. The deceased was identified as Namrata Behera (20) of Dalang village under Khireitangiri gram panchayat.
The incident took place when Namrata, along with her four friends, was returning on the Puri-Barbil Express. A trackman saw the girl falling off the train and informed the Tangiriapal station authorities. After receiving information, railway and Harichandanpur police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.
Sources said she recently topped in computer science at a private university. Her father, Bijayananda Behera, is a vegetable vendor, and her mother a homemaker.
Sushanta Sethy, SI of railway police, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, said, "We are verifying the cause of the incident."
