3 rob man near petrol pump in Sector 56

CHANDIGARH: Three people allegedly robbed a man of cash and a silver chain from near a petrol pump in Sector 56 on Thursday night.
Abdul Raheem, a resident of Raipur Khurd, said he was going to his in-laws’ house in Sector 56 around 10 pm. As he reached near the petrol pump, three miscreants waylaid him. They attacked him with sticks and a blunt weapon.One of the accused snatched his wallet containing Rs15,000 and a silver chain. The fled leaving him in a pool of blood. Police are scrutinizing CCTV footage of nearby area to get clues about the accused.
Man goes to buy ice cream, thrashed
A man was thrashed when he was buying an ice cream from a roadside vendor near Jalvayu Tower, Mohali, police said on Friday after registering a case against two persons. Manjeet Singh (40) of Sunny Enclave, Kharar, said a car was parked at the spot. He said its occupants started abusing him. When he confronted them, they blocked his way by parking their vehicle in front of his. Later, they stepped out and thrashed him, he alleged. When a passerby came to help him, the accused sped away.
