Vigilance bureay probing former MLA Navtej Cheema, says Rana Gurjeet’s son
Sultanpur Lodhi: In his rally titled "Navin Soch Nawan Punjab", Kapurthala Congress MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh's son and independent MLA Rana Inder Partap Singh on Saturday made it clear that he was holding a parallel show. Without taking former Congress MLA Navtej Cheema's name, he called him a blood-sucking parasite and claimed that the Punjab vigilance bureau had already opened an inquiry against him for corruption in Punjab govt funds spent during the 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak."When Congress announced the rally, I told Rana ji (his father, Rana Gurjeet Singh) that I shall also hold a rally. He advised that we could hold the rally after a few days, but I replied that come what may, I shall not allow the revival of this half-dead chichad (blood-sucking insect) and shall finish him completely," he said while referring to Cheema."Then Rana ji said to hold the rally, and if I worked among people in the last three years, then people would come to the rally. Today you have come in big numbers from across the constituency on a notice of just two days. People will vote for the candidate," Rana Inder Partap said.Referring to Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, he said, "The state president has come to the rally. I want to tell him that on my request to the CM, the vigilance bureau has already opened an enquiry into the corruption in the funds meant for Guru Nanak's 550th anniversary. Now will he (Warring) go to the VB office also when Cheema is called there? He (Cheema) looted people, and even false cases were registered against people for extorting money. People were fed up with him, and that is why they extended me full support," he said.MSID:: 120018867 413 |
