Sack Raja chorus to echo in DMK meet
CHENNAI: The DMK general council will meet on Thursday, a day after its propaganda secretary and former Union telecom minister A Raja was arrested by the CBI in connection with the 2G spectrum scam.
The meeting, to be chaired by chief minister M Karunanidhi, apart from discussing poll strategy for the forthcoming assembly elections is also likely to take a decision on removing Raja from all party posts.
1x1 polls

Karunanidhi has been saying that his party would take action against Raja if he is found guilty.
At the meeting, DMK strongman and Union minister M K Alagiri’s supporters are likely to raise their pitch in asking the leadership to sack Raja from his party post as the 2G spectrum scam would affect the party’s poll campaign, which is just few months away.
Even after the CBI conducted raids at Raja’s residence as well as the residences and offices of his family members and friends, Karunanidhi’s daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi said her party would come out clean in the CBI probe into the 2G scam.
To counter opposition campaign on the issue, DMK launched “Defend Raja” campaign across the state last December.
Meanwhile, the DMK on Wednesday constituted a five-member committee, headed by party treasurer and deputy chief minister M K Stalin, to hold talks with allies on seat-sharing for the polls.
The committee would comprise principal secretary Arcot N Veerasamy, deputy general secretary Duraimurugan, DMK parliamentary team leader T R Baalu and high level committee member K Ponmudi.
