A local resident was killed after his car fell into a gorge from Yamunotri highway on Saturday night. According to sources, the deceased was 27-year-old Sanjay Chauhan, resident of Matla village. He was returning home when his car skidded off the road in Damta area.

UTTARKASHI: A local resident was killed after his car fell into a gorge from Yamunotri highway on Saturday night. According to sources, the deceased was 27-year-old Sanjay Chauhan, resident of Matla village. He was returning home when his car skidded off the road in Damta area.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and took a severely injured Chauhan to a nearby health centre, where he was declared dead by doctors.

District disaster management officer Devendra Patwal said, “Police has sent the body for post-mortem examination.”
