Uttarakhand Chief Electoral Officer Yogesh Pacholia on Saturday informed that a voter list of 1,200 advocates has been issued for the election of members of the High Court Bar Association. As per rules, there will be one-time voting, therefore, advocates who participated in the elections for the second time, will not be a part of the High Court Bar Association polls.
Furthermore, the nomination fee for the post of president is rupees 35,000 and for the secretary and senior vice-president is rupees 25,000 and for other posts, a lesser fee is charged.
There are a total of 67 nomination papers for various posts in the High Court Bar Association. The nomination papers will be submitted on May 23.
Pacholia said that on the day of the sale of nomination papers, the papers for the High Court Bar Association's president's post were taken by current president Avtar Singh Rawat, Shashikant Shandilya, Prabhakar Joshi, Hirendra Rawal, and Puran Singh.
Kaushal Shah Jagati, Mohinder Singh Bisht and Vikas Kumar Guglani for senior vice-president (General), Prabha Naithani and Charanjit Kaur for Senior vice-president (M), Bhaskar Joshi, Shushil Vashisht, Prashant Joshi, Prabhat Vohra and Girish Chandra Joshi for junior vice-president.
Saurabh Adhikari and outgoing secretary Vikas Bahuguna took papers for the post of secretary, Mukesh Kumar Kapurwan and Shivangi Gangwar for joint secretary (administration), Naveen Singh Bisht and Kisan Singh for joint secretary (press).
Three candidates took papers for the treasurer's post -- Siddharth Jain, Lata Negi and Shivangi Gangwar.
Kishan Singh, Yogesh Kumar Sharma and Poonam took nomination papers for the post of Librarian. Bhuvnesh Joshi, Vinodanand Barthwal, Tanuj Semwal, Saurabh Kumar Pandey, Yogesh Kumar Sharma, Poonam, Chandrashekhar Joshi, Sanjeev Singh, Ramesh Joshi for the post of senior executive members. Poonam and Shivangi Gangwar for the post of senior executive member, while Ajay Kumar, Prem Prakash Bhatt, Mayank Pandey, Gaurav Kandpal, Anand Singh, Yashwant Singh Khati, Kishan Singh, Kanti Ram, Rajni Supliyal, Bhupendra Prasad, for the post of junior executive member. Nomination papers were taken by Neeti Rana and Reema Rana for the post of junior executive member.
