RISHIKESH: A 28-year-old man from Dehradun drowned during rafting in the Ganga in Rishikesh on Wednesday.

Police said Sagar Negi, a resident of Nehru Colony, Dehradun, jumped from a raft near the Brahmpuri area, fainted in the water, and was pulled out by a rafting guide and fellow rafters.
He was taken to the civil hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
A postmortem is being conducted. Senior sub-inspector Yogesh Pandey said the incident occurred when a group of six had arrived at Muni Ki Reti for rafting.
