NEW DELHI: BJP candidate Ashok Goel won with 52,108 votes in Model Town constituency, defeating his nearest rival, AAP candidate Akhilesh Pati Tripathi.
The key candidates contesting this election are Akhilesh Pati Tripathi from the
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Ashok Goel representing the
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Kanwar Karan Singh from the
Indian National Congress (INC).

In the previous Assembly elections, AAP’s Akhilesh Pati Tripathi secured victory with a margin of 11,133 votes, while BJP’s Kapil Mishra was the runner-up with 41,532 votes.
During the 2020 Assembly elections, Delhi recorded a voter turnout of 61.46% across its 70 constituencies.
The Congress party governed Delhi for three consecutive terms from 1998 to 2013, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured victory only once. In 2013, the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ended Congress' rule by forming a short-lived minority government. Since then, AAP has successfully completed two consecutive terms, governing from 2015 to 2025.
