GHAZIABAD: A woman injured in the freakiest of accidents as a car plunged from a flyover on Tuesday night and landed on her shanty delivered a healthy baby, a girl, at the Delhi hospital where she was admitted for treatment.
Madhu (32), however, has head injuries and remains under close observation. At the time of the last update on her health on Wednesday evening, she remained unconscious.
The newborn is the first girl born to Madhu and Sandeep, who have four sons. Two of them who were in the shanty with her, Shivam (8) and Ballu (3), also sustained injuries, but are said to be stable. Sandeep escaped unhurt because he was sleeping on a charpoy outside the shanty.

CCTV footage shows four men were in the car, with a UP registration number, that was headed from Kavi Nagar to Sihani Gate via Hapur Chungi around midnight. Police suspect the men were drunk and returning home after dinner when the driver lost control.
ACP Kavi Nagar Swatantra Singh said the car was completely damaged in the crash, but the four men managed to get out by the time a police team reached the spot, so they don't know the identity of the men yet.
"We have identified the car owner as Modinagar resident Javed and dispatched a team to bring him in for questioning. We are yet to ascertain if he was in the car at the time of the crash," the ACP said. Police have found food packets in the vehicle. Teams have been set up to scan CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the accused.
An FIR was registered on Wednesday against unknown persons under sections 281 (rash driving) and 125B (causing grievous hurt by endangering life or personal safety of others) of BNS at Kavi Nagar police station. Police said the injured were rushed to MMG Hospital and later referred to GTB hospital in Delhi. "Madhu delivered a healthy baby girl but continues to be under treatment, along with her two kids," a police source said.
