Soon, Calangute promenade to get facelift: Lobo

Calangute: After inspecting the Calangute beach promenade, local MLA Michael Lobo said that the promenade will soon get an upgrade. Calangute sarpanch Joseph Sequeira, PWD chief engineer Uttam Parsekar, PWD chief architect Merwin Gomes and other officials conducted the inspection of the promenade with Lobo.
During the inspection, various proposals were discussed for a comprehensive beautification and restoration project aimed at transforming the promenade into a vibrant and aesthetically appealing landmark.
The initiative aligns with govt’s broader vision to boost tourism in the region by enhancing public spaces and infrastructure, Lobo said.
As a first step, it was decided to remove all overhead electricity cables and wires and carry out underground cabling to improve safety and visual appeal, he added.
Lobo further said the upgraded promenade will enhance the experience for tourists and will also benefit local businesses and residents.
