Despite being one of the NBA’s most valuable franchises at $5.1 billion, the Miami Heat are struggling. Their latest 103-91 loss to the Boston Celtics extended their losing streak to six games. While performances from Andrew Wiggins and Tyler Herro showed promise, the team is desperate for stability. Enter Udonis Haslem — the Heat legend turned Vice President of Basketball Development — who’s now stepping up to guide the squad through this challenging stretch.

Udonis Haslem takes on Vice President of Basketball Development role
Amidst these challenges, Udonis Haslem, a Miami Heat legend and three-time NBA champion, has taken on a new role in the organization.
After retiring in 2023 after an impressive 20-year career, he is named Vice President of Basketball Development. In this role, he mentors current Heat players and those in the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the G League affiliate. He also represents the Heat in various community and business efforts.
Udonis Haslem has a major impact on the Heat's culture. Greg Oden, a former NBA player, put it perfectly: "The Miami Heat culture is defined by Udonis Haslem. We all know that type of person he is, one of the best dudes, do anything for you but he gonna fight everybody in this b*tch."
