GURGAON: The real estate regulator has imposed penalties totalling Rs 1.25 crore on two developers for violating the Rera Act. Vatika Ltd was fined Rs 1 crore for failing to register its ongoing project Vatika India Next Phase - II, violating Section 3(1) of the Act.
Godrej Developers & Properties LLP was penalised Rs 25 lakh for not completing Godrej Air Phase-2 within the timeline, breaching Section 4(2)(l)(C). HRera officials said action is taken for safeguarding homebuyers' interests, and it also warned that strict action will continue against developers who fail to comply with mandatory registration and timely project delivery norms.
According to a senior official, "Both actions were taken after the developers were found to be in breach of their legal obligations under Rera, and failed to comply with mandatory requirements for registration and timely completion. Such lapses not only breach the law but also impact the trust and financial security of homebuyers."
