1 dies as car rams into electric pole

Silchar: A driver lost his life in a road accident in Sribhumi town on Thursday morning, after the speeding vehicle rammed into an electric pole.
The accident took place on Lakhibazar Road within the city. While travelling from Harijan Colony to Girishganj, the speeding car collided with an electric pole, leaving the driver, Bapon Das, fatally injured, a witnesses said.
The force of the crash caused the vehicle to overturn on the road. Despite suffering severe injuries and bleeding profusely, the driver managed to extricate himself from the wreckage. However, he succumbed to his injuries on the roadside.
Traffic police arrived at the scene and subsequently transported the driver's body to Sribhumi civil hospital for an autopsy.
