Dharwad: Shreeraksha Haveri of KE Board's KNK Girls' High School, Anushree Raghavendra Katarki of KE Board's English Medium High School, Malamaddi and Shreya P Hosur of Smt Nirmala Thakkar English Medium High School, Hubballi have secured state-level third rank in the SSLC examination-2025.
All three have scored 623/625. Shreeraksha, daughter of a farmer from Dharwad joined KNK School when she was in class 5 and was a class topper throughout. She has been selected by Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement for providing further education free of cost.
Anushree Raghavendra Katarki, whose father is a mechanical engineer and mother a homemaker, is also a good singer apart from being good at academics. Both Shreeraksha and Anushree scored cent percent in all subjects except Science and English.
Gouthami Panchakshari of Vidyaranya High School scored 622, Hailing from a poor family, she was supported by her homemaker mother after Gouthami lost her father. School principal Sindhu Shirur said Gouthami scored 98 in science and 99 in English.
This year, a total of 27,048 students appeared for the SSLC examination in Dharwad district, of which 18,145 students have passed and 8,903 students have failed.
Once again, girls have outshined boys by recording 76.2% passing percentage, while boys have scored 57.6%.
Interestingly, rural candidates have fared well in comparison with their urban counterparts. While the passing percentage in rural areas in the district is 75%, in urban pockets it is 61.7%.
Six schools including five in Hubballi city and one in Navalgund have recorded zero passing, while 19 schools have recorded 100% passing.
