AP’s Krishna canal worksmust stop: T

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has urged the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) to stop illegal lining works on Srisailam right main canal being undertaken by Andhra Pradesh government.
In a letter to KRMB on Saturday, irrigation engineer-in-chief C Muralidhar said once the illegal lining works are completed, it would further facilitate huge diversion of Krishna water from Srisailam outside the basin.
He alleged that the works go against the ruling of National Green Tribunal and the ministry of environment and forest has not sanctioned any environmental clearance. tnn
