GIC to plant 1 lakh saplings in Delhi

Hyderabad: In a bid to reduce pollution in Delhi, the Green India Challenge (GIC) has taken up the task of planting one lakh saplings in the national capital in association with Delhi Municipal Corporation.
The GIC has taken up the one lakh plantation drive at the vacant land of the parks and planted saplings at Narain industrial area in Karol Bagh zone on Wednesday.MPs from different parties and states like Congress party’s Jairam Ramesh, AAP’s Sanjay Singh, Shiv Sena’s Anil Desai, CPI’s Binoy Visvam, YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy and others participated in the novel initiative. GIC founder and MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar said tree plantation is the only solution to beat pollution.
Jairam Ramesh congratulated the GIC for working towards increasing the green cover and reducing the challenges thrown by the pollution.
