Indore: One person was arrested for a theft on March 10 in Teachers Colony of Neemuch, and stolen cash and jewellery worth lakhs were seized.
Following a complaint filed on March 15 by Rajneesh Soni, a resident of Teachers Colony, the police began an intensive investigation. According to the complaint, Rajneesh went to his shop as usual on March 10, while his mother was alone at home. Around 3 PM, she locked the house and left for a temple. When she returned at around 6 PM, she found that the house was broken into, and gold and silver ornaments along with cash from the cupboard was missing.
Under the direction of SP Ankit Jaiswal, Neemuch Cantonment police and the cyber cell, were instructed to trace the accused. The police team analysed footage from the crime scene, surrounding areas and locations extending up to Mandsaur. The obtained visuals were circulated across nearby districts, leading to information that linked the suspect to Rajgarh district.
With the assistance of Chhapiheda police, the accused identified as Radhe Shyam, 50, resident of Chhapiheda in Rajgarh, was taken into custody. Upon interrogation, he confessed to the crime. The investigation revealed that he would visit Neemuch, Mandsaur and districts in Rajasthan, conducting recce on unoccupied houses before committing thefts. The accused was also involved in similar criminal activities in Rajasthan and had connections with others engaged in illegal activities.
Based on the suspect's disclosure, police recovered stolen items, including 30 grams of gold, 5.5 kg of silver, Rs 7000 cash, an iron rod used in the crime and the clothes worn during the incident.
