Ajaz Khan says India’s Got Latent controversy was deliberately used as a cover-up for bigger national issues: 'Hindustan ke log hypocrite hai'

The India’s Got Latent controversy has been dominating headlines for weeks, with celebrities divided over the issue. While some have supported Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia, others have called their statements offensive. Now, actor Ajaz Khan has shared his thoughts, alleging that the controversy was deliberately used to divert attention from more significant national issues.
In a recent interview with Hindi Rush, Ajaz Khan addressed the uproar, stating that it was orchestrated to overshadow pressing matters. When asked if he had followed the controversy, he responded, "Haan maine dekha, woh controversy bhi chali. Woh jo quote usne bola tha, woh kisi aur ne likha hai, uske pehle bahot saare actors bhi bol chuke hai lekin unpe logo ki nazar nahi gayi."
(Yes, I saw it. Even that controversy happened. The quote he said was originally written by someone else; many actors had said similar things before, but no one paid attention to them.)

Ajaz further alleged that major national issues were buried under the controversy. "Uss time pe bahot saari chizen Hindustan mein ho rahi thi jisko dabane ke liye, yeh chizon ko chalana zaroori tha. Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia aur woh teesra, yeh teen ko bana liya photo, aur uss time pe kayi badi news dab gayi. Adani ke port pe kuch hua tha, yeh sab chizen daba diye phatak karke, nahi toh Hindustan uspe sawaal karne lagta."
(A lot of things were happening in India at that time, and to suppress them, this controversy was necessary. Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, and the third person were made the face of the news, and several significant events were hidden. Something had happened at Adani’s port, and it was covered up instantly—otherwise, India would have started questioning it.)

The former Bigg Boss 7 contestant also accused authorities of selectively targeting certain YouTubers. "Yeh teeno ko aage kar diya; inka YouTube channel bandh karo. Itne YouTubers gaaliyan de rahe hai, Purav Jha ka bhi bandh karo, mera bhi bandh karo. Mere pe bhi case karo, sab pe case karo, sabko summon behjo ek saath. Tab hoga ke kanoon ek number chiz hai."
(These three were pushed forward, and their YouTube channels were asked to be shut down. So many YouTubers use abusive language—shut down Purav Jha’s channel too, shut down mine as well. File cases against everyone, send summons to all at once. Only then will it be clear that the law is fair.)
Ajaz also criticized public hypocrisy over the controversy, "Jo log iska show dekhke hass rahe the woh log bhi iske peeche pad gaye, ‘tu galat hai’. Hindustan ke log hypocrite hai."
(The same people who laughed while watching the show are now saying, ‘You are wrong.’ Indians are hypocrites.)

During the same interview, Ajaz Khan also revealed that while serving time at Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail, he had helped Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra during their legal troubles.
