With over Rs 9 crore in advance sales, mainly from Kerala, the film's widespread appeal has generated high anticipation five days before its release. Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran has outdone himself yet again. His highly anticipated film L2E: Empuraan with Mohanlal in the lead has shattered advance booking records, overtaking the previous benchmark set by The Goat Life. As of now, the advance bookings for Empuraan have surged past Rs 9 crore, eclipsing The Goat Life, which had grossed Rs 8.75 crore on its opening day. While Prithviraj just acted and distributed The Goat Life with Empuraan he is also the director and the visionary behind the film.

Kerala Dominance
The lion's share of this record-breaking achievement comes from Kerala, where the film has amassed an impressive Rs 7.26 crore in advance ticket sales, with over 4.41 lakh tickets sold as per Track BO. With 1,645 fan shows and 332 houseful screenings already confirmed, the excitement surrounding the film is palpable.
Rest Of India Chips In
Other key markets have also seen significant traction. In Karnataka, L2E: Empuraan has collected Rs 1.06 crore across 647 shows, recording a 34.16% occupancy rate. Tamil Nadu has shown strong numbers as well, with Rs 23.18 lakh collected from 125 screens, boasting a high 56.23% occupancy.
The film’s appeal has even extended to regions outside the South, with Maharashtra contributing Rs 20.86 lakh across 206 shows and Telangana adding Rs 19.82 lakh from just 76 screenings. Even the Delhi-NCR region has shown interest, with Rs 7.82 lakh in pre-release ticket sales.
Though the biggest opening in Kerala has been Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo: Bloody Sweet which went to collect Rs 12 crore. It would be interesting to see when the sequel to Lucifer can break Leo’s record.
With opening day just 5 days away, all eyes are now on L2E: Empuraan to see if it can live up to the monumental hype and rewrite box office history once again. One thing is certain—Prithviraj has officially beaten Prithviraj.
