Finish Isarda Dam project by June: CM
Jaipur: At a review meeting with officials of water resources department (WRD) Wednesday, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma directed them to complete the Isarda Dam drinking water project by June.
"The CM has given us a deadline for the Isarda Dam project. We will try to meet the deadline," said a WRD official. Just a day before, on Tuesday, WRD had issued a press release that they would complete the Isarda Dam project by July.
"WRD is making every effort to complete the construction work by July. This will enable water to be stored in the dam during the monsoon. After this, supply of drinking water will be possible to 1,079 villages and 5 cities in Dausa and 177 villages and one city in Sawai Madhopur," the release issued by WRD stated.
Officials said that during the meeting, the CM directed that the Dholpur project should be also completed by June. He also instructed that the Kalitir project, for which construction is to commence soon, be monitored regularly.
"All these projects are part of the the revised PKC-ERCP (Ramjal Setu Link) project. Through this, drinking water and water for irrigation will be supplied to 17 districts of the state. We are aiming to completing the entire project in the next two years," said a senior WRD official.
