Men in Blue will lift the World Cup: Irrfan Khan
JAIPUR: The versatile actor Irrfan Khan who started off with TV serials like Banegi aapni baat etc and finally made it big in Bollywoood and also starred in Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire, feels that Men in Blue (MIB) are poised to lift the cup.
Rajiv Khandelwal of Aamir fame also has several reasons to justify his belief.
In town to celebrate his Padma Shree award with family and friends, local boy Irrfan spoke to TOI on Monday and a discussion on cricket reminded him his college days.

He was a huge hitter and would also bowl quite well.
"I think MIB are vivacious and they have the lethal combo and under captain cool, we can only go places," he said.
"If we have promising players suresh Raina and Piyush Chawla, we also have the topguns like Sachin Tendulkar, Virendra Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh who can mincemeat any bowling attack in the world," Irrfan said.
Asked if he felt that the bowling and fielding departments were a matter of concern, Irrfan said, "The team has swing bowlers like Zaheer Khan and Munaf Patel. As far as fielding is concerned, we have Yuvraj, Viraat Kohli and Suresh Raina to cover point, silly point, cover and deep fine leg."

The X-factor of this team is it's "controlled aggression". "Earlier, Indian players got worked up when they were sledged. I remember a match in which Shoaib Akthar had a minor spat with Harbhajan Singh, the spinner got India the game by hitting a six on the last ball. No team should this contingent likely. This team knows how to give it back by performing."
Rajiv Khandelwal, another Jaipur boy, who is on a honeymoon trip to Ranthambore said, " I think this squad is as good as Kapil's "Devils". The 83 team started off as underdogs, but went on to snatch the cup from the mighty West Indians which was led by the legendary Clive Lloyd."
"Dhoni's team has been performing consistently. however, sometimes, complacency sets in, which could be a matter of concern," he added.
Khandelwal who had played gully cricket believes that captain cool and his chemistry with his players will yield results.
Khandelwal who used to frequent KL Saini stadium to play cricket during his childhood days said, "Dil aur dimaag dono keh rahe hain ki India jeetega yeh world cup!"
