Jaipur car crash: BJP's Balmukund Acharya accuses Congress MLA Amin Kagzi of trying to shield suspect, warns of bulldozer action
Following a tragic SUV crash in Jaipur that killed three and injured several, a Rajasthan BJP MLA accused the driver, Usman Hasan, of being a Congress worker and demanded his execution.
NEW DELHI: Rajasthan BJP MLA Balmukund Acharya on Tuesday claimed that the man behind the Jaipur SUV crash, Usman Hasan, is a Congress worker and demanded that he be hanged for “deliberately” mowing down pedestrians.
While talking to the news agency ANI, Acharya said, “The accused, Usman Hasan, is a Congress functionary. He has done this deliberately and must be hanged. I have full faith in CM Bhajanlal Sharma’s government that bulldozers will be used against those responsible, and compensation will be given to the victim’s family.”

The BJP legislator further claimed that Kagzi was trying to protect the accused. “We will not allow him to escape justice. He will be punished,” he added.
Accused Usman Khan has been expelled from the Jaipur City District Congress’s executive body with immediate effect following his arrest in a rape case, the party confirmed on Wednesday.

The comments come amid escalating political heat over the horrific incident late Monday night, when the SUV, allegedly driven by a heavily drunk Usman Hasan, ploughed through narrow lanes of Nahargarh, hitting pedestrians and parked vehicles before being intercepted by locals and handed over to police.
The impact left three dead, Avdesh Pareek (37), Mamta (50), and another victim whose identity is being verified — and at least seven injured, with some in critical condition. Additional DCP (North) Bajrang Singh said the vehicle also caused damage on MI Road and Galta Gate, with eyewitnesses recalling scenes of chaos as people were flung off bikes and onto pavements.
ACP (Kotwali) Anoop Singh said the driver, who was barely conscious due to inebriation, has been detained and the vehicle seized. “A detailed investigation is underway,” he said.
Kishanpole MLA Amin Kagzi visited the SMS Hospital, where the injured were rushed for treatment. “We saw nine injured. A woman and her brother are serious, and a 17-year-old girl is critical,” he said, denying allegations of shielding the accused.
The incident has triggered outrage in the city, with large crowds gathering at the site and hospital through the night. Eyewitnesses described the SUV as “out of control” and moving at dangerous speeds.
Locals, like Dilkush Kachotiya, who was returning from the Santoshi Mata Temple, said, “The vehicle just kept hitting people and throwing them off the road. It was terrifying.”
