Kanpur: A meeting comprising senior officials and local representatives was held regarding the 'Bithoor Festival', to be organised on Friday, March 21, at Nana Rao Memorial Park, on Thursday. Officials received essential directives for organising and executing the festival. The authorities, including the MLA Abhijeet Singh Sanga, district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh, and senior police personnel, assessed security measures and arrangements, considering the expected attendance of chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
The festivities will start at 11am with students participating in dance, rangoli, and slogan/art competitions. At 4pm, Kanpur Kathak Kala Kendra will showcase Ganesh Vandana and the Ganges' descent, whilst Prince Dance Group will present performances centred on Lord Krishna and the Indian flag. Ramakshir Sagar from Pune will render folk songs themed ‘From Godavari to Ganga-Jamuna'. Vinod Kumar Dwivedi and Ayush Dwivedi will perform Dhrupad singing, followed by Padma Shri Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota's devotional evening.
'Bithoor Festival' will showcase the combined culture and history of Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. The festival will emphasise the courageous narratives of Nana Rao Memorial Park, which spearheaded the 1857 freedom movement in Kanpur.
Additional Police Commissioner for Law and Order Harish Chandra,CDO Deeksha Jain, ADM city Rajesh Kumar, ADCP Rajesh Srivastava, ADCP traffic Archana Singh, ADCP West Vijendra Dwivedi, ADCP Women's Crime Amita Singh, and other relevant officials were also present.
