Ist phase of elevated railway track project to commence in April
Kanpur: Railway officials, along with the divisional commissioner, inspected the construction site of the new station under the Anwar Ganj-Mandhana elevated track project on Thursday. The elevated track project will involve a two-phase tender process. In the first phase, the tender process for constructing a new station on the agricultural department's land in front of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University will commence in April.
Division commissioner Vijayendra Pandian, accompanied by chief administrative officer of Northeast Railway Abhay Gupta, chief engineer RK Singh, coordinator Neeraj Srivastava, and other officials, conducted a site inspection to ensure coordination among all related departments for this high-priority project of the Railways Ministry and the state govt.
Chief administrative officer of Northeast Railway Abhay Gupta stated that the DPR was approved by the Railway ministry and all other approvals were obtained. The tender will be conducted in two phases for the project.
In the first phase, the tender process for the construction of the new railway station building will begin in April. After the completion of the govt order and land acquisition for Zareeb Chowki ROB project, the tender process for elevating the railway track will be initiated in the second phase, he said. The project is expected to be completed in two years, and train operations will be diverted for two years once construction begins.
Commissioner Vijayendra Pandian said that all the tasks to be carried out by the state govt will receive clearance promptly, and active participation from the administration and various departments will be ensured during the project. Coordinator Neeraj Srivastava will play a key role in coordination, and the completion of this project will significantly enhance development opportunities in Kanpur, particularly benefiting the southern region with a population of around two million. The tender process for the project will take place in April.
