State women panel hears 11 matters in Kanpur
Kanpur: Poonam Dwivedi, member of UP State Women Commission, on Wednesday heard 11 matters related to women harassment, domestic violence, dowry and other issues.
She issued necessary directives for immediate disposals to the concerned police and other department offices.
The public hearing for women was held at the Circuit House where one Anamika complained of being beaten and mentally harassed by her husband. After hearing the matter, Poonam Dwivedi directed the additional commissioner of police for women crimes to send a report to the commission within 15 days for effective action to resolve the issue.
Similarly, applicant Renu Kushwaha complained of harassment by her sister-in-law and her husband, upon which the member directed the ADCP crime to solve the problem and send a report to the commission within 15 days.
To create awareness among women present in the public hearing, the commission member said that to get help in cases of any kind of harassment of women, domestic violence, the women should immediately dial 112.
Later, Poonam Dwivedi inspected the PHC, Harjinder Naga and instructed the staff to take special care of the patients. She said that in view of the prevailing heat they should ensure cleanliness in the premises, and make proper arrangements of pure drinking water.
