Two migrants held on Pocso charges

Kozhikode: Kasaba Police and city crime squad, on Wednesday, arrested two migrant workers, who attempted to sexually assault a 15-year-old girl while she was returning home after tuition. The arrested persons were identified as Faizan Anwar (36) and Himan Ali (18) from Kishanganj in Bihar. They were booked under Pocso and other sections.
The accused allegedly followed and attempted to sexually assault the girl on April 28. The girl managed to resist them and ran away. After the incident, the suspects fled the scene. Following a complaint, Kasaba Police registered a case and began a probe. The team identified them after examining numerous CCTV footage near the scene and conducting searches in areas where migrant workers lived in groups.
A cement-stained shoe of one of the accused found at the scene became a crucial lead. Police understood that the suspects were migrant workers involved in construction work. Subsequently, they were located and arrested today from an accommodation facility at Bhajan Kovil Road in Chalappuram.
